If we truly seek to protect the dignity of human rights and human life, and if society is to remain free from genocide and terrorism, then unwavering solidarity with and resistance in support of the people of Rojava (Western Kurdistan) is essential.
Terrorist and extremist forces, together with the brutal army of the Syrian government—supported by extremist groups backed by Turkey, with the awareness of the United States and the silence of China, Russia, the European Union, and the United Kingdom—have carried out ruthless armed attacks against Rojava (Western Kurdistan) in the Middle East. These forces have committed numerous grave crimes against humanity, including severe abuses and humiliations against Kurdish civilians.
We, the undersigned parties and organizations listed below, address this open letter to all member states of the United Nations, the European Union, and to all political parties and forces of Kurdistan that believe in freedom, human rights, and the protection of the global environment. At this critical moment, thousands of people in Rojava (Western Kurdistan) are facing death as a result of genocidal and inhumane acts committed by the occupying forces of the Syrian government’s army.
We urgently call for immediate action to protect and rescue the civilians of Rojava, to prevent their annihilation, and to ensure that they may live freely and with dignity. We call upon all concerned parties to stand by them and support them during this critical time.
